The Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Washington, D.C. Currency Facility has a requirement to procure up to four (4) Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) Coating Systems that will apply a uniform protective coating to electro-formed nickel intaglio printing plates.
The first system will be installed at the BEP’s Washington, DC Currency Facility (DCF). Initial testing and optimization will occur at the DCF. Optional systems will be installed at either the Western Currency Facility (WCF) located in Fort Worth, Texas or in the existing Washington, DC facility or at a future DC location. Options for additional technical support, systems, spare parts, consumable materials and Factory Inspection Test (FIT)/Demonstration materials are included.
The BEP anticipates issuing a solicitation on or about April 1, 2020. An unrestricted full and open competitive solicitation is planned for this requirement. The applicable NAICS code is 333244 – Printing Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing.
