THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE NOTICE. The USDA/ARS intends to award a Firm fixed price sole source contract under the 41 U.S.C 253 (c) (1) FAR 6.302-1 (2) (C) (ii) (A) only one responsible source to LifeSource Biomedical, LLC. 13900 Lincoln Park Drive, Ste. 310, Herndon, VA 20171. Description of Requirement: The objective of this sole source award is to procure and install a CONVIRON MDOEL PGR15 PLANT GROWTH CHAMBER including: Additive humidity through use of spray nozzles [SNH]; Remote Outdoor Air-Cooled Condenser [RAC]; Electromagnetic 3-way proportional valve [PV]. The Conviron Model PGR 15, manufactured by Controlled Environments, Inc. is the only model available that fits our specific space and experimental needs. The growth chamber being purchased needs to have the exact footprint of the chamber being replaced (an older version of the PGR 15) due to the space constraints of the room that will house the chamber. The chamber also needs to have at least 16 sq. ft. of shelf space and 57 inches of growth height, humidity control, and a temperature range 10 to 45C. No other chambers available meet these humidity and temperature requirements while matching the footprint of available space in the room that will house the chamber.

This requirement will be for the purchase of QTY - 1 EACH, Conviron Model PGR 15 plant Growth Chamber for the total system Supplies/ Services that will meet the government needs. The NAICS code for this requirement is 334516, and the small business size standard is 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes however; all information received by 25 August 2014, 2:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time will be considered by the Government.
