The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA, Grain Inspection Packers and Stockyards (GIPSA), Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS), Kansas City, MO, intends to issue a sole source purchase order with AutoGen for one (1) GenePrep (Plant Version 2DNA protocol) fully automated, medium throughput system for the isolation of DNA from ground plant material; and a two year service agreement. GIPSA maintains a biotechnology lab devoted to ensuring genetically modified events have verifiable testing methods to meet world requirements in trading. Rapid response has been crucial in addressing market critical events. Our protocols necessitate the use of at least 300 mg of starting material with chemistries specific to plant material in order to obtain sufficient working quantities of DNA product.
The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest in having their product tested for approval. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
