INVITATION TO BID PONCE INLET FIRE STATION RE-ROOF PROJECT BID NO. 2022-07 Notice is hereby given that the Town of Ponce Inlet is accepting bids for the Ponce Inlet Fire Station Roof Replacement Project, Bid No. 2022-07. Bids will be accepted until 2:00 P.M., on Monday, December 19, 2022, at which time they will be opened in the Town Council Chambers, 4300 S. Atlantic Avenue, Ponce Inlet, FL and available for public inspection. There will be a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting for this project at 2:30 P.M. on Monday, December 5, 2022 at the Ponce Inlet Fire Station, 4680 S. Peninsula Drive, Ponce Inlet, FL. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Removal of existing roofing material as well as replacement of up to 200 square feet of plywood replacement, as required and to replace with an asphalt shingled roof complete, with waterproofing underlayment and asphalt shingles including as follows: Contractor shall perform work in a timely manner reducing exposure to public property damage The contractor shall furnish all of the materials and labor to complete this job Care shall be taken to avoid damage to any public or private property, or natural vegetation Contractor shall keep a safe work area at all times Contractor shall keep a clean work area minimizing hazards to all person in the immediate area Provide Roofing Materials per the attached specifications Complete project within 60 days of the Notice to Proceed Date and receipt of Purchase Order Provide all necessary insurance as outlined below Obtain Town of Ponce Inlet Building Permit to cover all work to be performed Any questions must be received in writing via e-mail by 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2022 and directed to Fred W. Griffith, P.E., Public Works Manager at [email protected] and reference 2022-07 FD Roof Replacement in the subject line. Staff responses to any questions received will be provided to requestor and any contractor having expressed interest via attendance at the pre-bid meeting and posted on DemandStar and the Town’s website as “Addendum – Responses” by Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Selected bidder is required to complete and submit a Certificate of Liability Insurance, a Public Entity Crime Statement, and affirm that they are in compliance with the State’s E-Verify requirements. No bids received after the time and date specified for the opening will be considered. The Town of Ponce Inlet (“Town”) reserves the right to reject all bids. Grounds for such a rejection shall include, but shall not be limited to, the receipt of only one responsive bid to the solicitation, realization of overly restrictive specifications in the solicitation, unclear directions to bidders in the solicitation, inadequate number of responses to the solicitation, change in Town’s needs after issuance of solicitation, all bids exceeding the allowed budget, and other grounds provided by law. Award of the contract will be made to the lowest responsible bidder for the actual amount bid. Responsible bidder means a contractor who has the capability, in all respects, to fully perform the contract requirements and the integrity and reliability that will assure good faith performance or as otherwise provided by law. General Scope of Work All construction materials shall meet or exceed 2020 Building Code Completely tear off existing roof to the roof deck or to a clean surface Re-nail all roof decking with 8 penny ring shank nails 6” on center per Code Remove all debris from premises and clean grounds thoroughly when project complete Furnish and install the following Shingle Roof Peel and stick underlayment Install Architectural Shingles with Stainless Steel Nails Install new aluminum drip edge nailed 3” on center Install new lead plumbing boots Replace existing ridge vents with new ones Install new wall and chimney flashing where applicable by installers discretion
