- Semi-automatic weapons "slide" or "bolt" must be able to lock to the rear when the weapon's standard ammunition load is exhausted.
- At a minimum with non-tethered weapons, should allow the instructor to monitor the immediate status of the student's weapon (ammunition magazine inserted, "slide" or "bolt" forward or locked to the rear, chamber loaded or empty, the number of rounds remaining in the weapon).
- The instructor's display should be able to monitor student's real-time weapons status. The requested system, with the non-tethered weapons at a minimum, should allow the instructor to monitor the student's point of aim, without the use of exterior weapon mounted lasers or lights.
- The instructor should be able to view the point of aim of student weapons during marksmanship courses and demonstrate to the students their muzzle trace during review.
- The requested system should be able to require the student to follow proper loading procedures in order for the weapon to be operational. (i.e. Locking the "slide" or "bolt" to the rear, inserting magazine and sending the "slide" or "bolt" to the carry configuration.)
