This RFI requests information from potential offerors able to provide PSUs for new systems that are built to existing NAWC-AD drawings. Currently, the system utilizes an AC/DC Multi-Channel PSU, Power Supply identified in NAWCAD system drawings DWG NO. 56769.
If competed, successful offerors would have to provide test reports from an independent test facility indicating that their unit has passed MIL-S-901D medium weight, Grade A, Class I Shock, MIL-STD-167-1A Mechanical Vibrations of Shipboard Equipment (Type I -Environmental and Type II Internally Excited), Mil-STD-461F Requirements for the Control of Electromagnetic Interface Emissions and Susceptibility, MIL-STD-1399-301A Interface Standard for Shipboard System, and MIL-DTL-5541F Chemical Conversion Coatings on Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys. Compliance certification testing would be the responsibility of the offeror, not the Government.
The AN/UPX-24(V) system requires a 360W Power Supply Unit (PSU) specifically designed for the existing shipboard Identification, Friend or Foe (IFF) system applications, and will meet internally developed signal routing IFF Mode 5 design requirements. Physical requirements include: AC active power factor correction input, input: 115VAC L-L 1Ø 60Hz, output: +3.3v, +5v, ±12v, power: 360W, 0.85W/in3, size: 9.9" X 11.9" X 3.6" and must be MIL STD-1399 compliant as well as capable of passing standard Military Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) Testing. The required PSU must be a form, fit, and functional replacement for previously fielded equipment used by the AN/UPX-24(V) system.
Currently, the system utilizes an AC/DC Multi-Channel PSU, Power Supply identified in NAWCAD system drawings under P/N 56769, which references P/N: VTA98019-01, a commercially available variant from Viable Power Conversion Technologies Inc. (CAGE Code 3AJ03). The required PSU must be a form, fit, and functional replacement built to the NAVAIR Drawings Specifications for previously fielded equipment used by the AN/UPX-24(V) system. Because the drawing is export controlled, it would only be released as part of an RFP Package mailed out by NAWC-AD. A Pre-solicitation Notice will request potential offerors to provide a copy of their approved DD2345, MILITARILY CRITICAL TECHNICAL DATA AGREEMENT. If NAWC-AD decides to proceed with the acquisition once the Pre-solicitation Notice closes, RFP packages will be mailed out to those vendors who provided the necessary DD2345. Potential providers would have the same amount of time to respond to the RFP.
Once again, this is a Request for Information only, not an RFP or RFQ. The only action requested is to self-identify interest in providing PSUs to NAWC-AD for Market Research purposes only. In addition, any literature provided will be forwarded to the NAWC-AD engineers, however, no feedback on those products will be provided.
All responses should be via electronic email. Interested Contractors should contact Mr. Robert Battaglia, [email protected].
