Clemson University's Bioengineering Department located in Clemson, SC wishes to sole source the purchase of a Protein Simple Jess Western Blot System and related training. This purchase is to be sole sourced because it is believed by the University that the Protein Simple Jess Western system is the only system with a capillary based western blot system that runs samples in 3 hours. Also included in the purchase is Comprehensive training that includes hands-on training for up to 3 people conducted onsite by a ProteinSimple field applications scientist. Includes a Jess Training Kit (PST004) as well as other related chemiluminescent reagents for either chemiluminescence or fluorescence specific training, time and travel. For these reasons, this is a sole source. The total value of the purchase, with training and shipping included is $69,996.92. Bidder’s right to protest as listed in Section 11-35-4210 in the South Carolina Consolidated Procurement Code applies to this announcement of an emergency procurement.
