The proposed contract action is for an acquisition for which the Defense Distribution Center, New Cumberland, PA intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) for the Psion Teklogix 8525 Vehicle Mount Terminal. This requirement will fulfill DLA Distributions' requirement for all vehicles to be equipped with a 8525 Vehicle Mount Terminal. This procurement has a required delivery 45 days from the date of award. Psion Teklogix is the only source that can provide these services to the current system operating in our DLA Distribution. This current system is from Psion Teklogix and is a standard across DLA Distribution. No other vendors are authorized by Psion Teklogix to provide the items pertinent to this requirement. Psion Teklogix will provide 8525 Vehicle Mount Terminals. Any attempt to develop an alternate source to provide this service/supply, if possible, would result in a substantial cost to the Government. Accordingly, the Government intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order (FFP) utilizing FAR Part 13 to Psion Teklogix for 8525 Vehicle Mount Terminals. Interested contractors may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 541511 with a small business dollar standard of $25,000,000.00.
