Award Info Published Thursday July 17, 2014 Awarded to: Vendor: BioTek Instruments Inc., Winooski, VT Amount: $59,587.35 Terms: One-time transaction The University award process may be delayed up to thirty days as this award goes through a state approval process. The hearing has been modified Published Thursday May 1, 2014 Hearing documents have been attached. First published Friday, March 28, 2014 The University awarded a contract for Purchase of Synergy Neo HTS MultiMode Plate Reader to BioTek Instruments Inc., Winooski, VT, for $59,587.35. Purchase the BioTek Synergy Neo Instrument that has a unique hybrid optical system and direct bottom optics. The hybrid optical (monochromator and filter based fluorescence) design provides the lab the opportunity to elect the most optimal detection system for the assay. The monochromator fluorescence optical system allows for flexibility and spectral scanning, while a filter-based optical system fine tunes fluorescence intensity. The filter-based optics also enables advanced fluorescence measurements like fluorescence polarization and time-resolved fluorescence. The Synergy NEO can also have a direct bottom optical path with independent excitation and detectors. Direct bottom optics provides best performance for fluorescence and/or luminescence labeled cells. Only the BioTek Synergy Neo Instrument has multiple parallel detectors for ultra-fast simultaneous measurements and quadruple grating optical design (two gratings per monochromator) for better spectral scanning performance. It also has dedicated filter-based bottom optics with focus adjustment for live-cell assays. The University has determined that this purchase is only economically available from this source because the Chemistry research projects would be greatly enhanced if the BioTek instrument was acquired.
