The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to make a sole source award to Huntron Inc for the purchase of equipment upgrades under the authority of FAR Subpart 6.302(1), which authorizes other than full and open competition when an item is peculiar to one manufacturer, the product is essential to the governments requirements and other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The BEP is in need of upgrades for its Huntron equipment. These upgrades will improve the hardware including the camera and support equipment which will allow the successfully testing of the newer circuit boards.
The upgrade includes the following;
Item #98-0450 Upgrade Kit, Color Camera P3
Item #98-0443 Upgrade Kit, USB Thru-Hole
Item #98-0128 Training
The resulting firm-fixed price purchase order will not exceed the simplified acquisition threshold.
This notice of intent to award a sole source purchase order is not a request for competitive proposals, quote or an invitation for bids. Interested parties may express their interest and provide a capabilities statement no later than August 5 2009 at 12:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time. Any cost associated with the preparation and submission of data or information or any other costs incurred in responding to this notice is the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed requirement upon receipt of any responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
