Contractor to provide healthcare resources in accordance with Public Law 104.262, 38 U.S.C. 8153 and VAAR Part 873. Contractor agrees to provide a Gastroenterologist at the VA Medical Center, 4815 Assembly, Spokane WA. 99205. Gastroenterologist shall be Board Certified in Internal Medicine and completed a fellowship in gastroenterology. Gastroenterologist (s) must be able to start on June 28, 2004. Physician must be able to start on June 28, 2004. If candidate is not available to start on June 28, 2004, offeror will be determined non-responsive, if after award it is determined candidate cannot start on June 28, 2004, contract shall be terminated for cause and award shall be made to next lowest offer. Price is an all-inclusive rate of per diem, travel, and price/cost. *Process of determining contract award: VAMC Spokane award preference will be as follows: 1) award to the lowest-priced responsive, responsible bidder who offers a Board Certified candidate in Internal Medicine, completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and has more than five years of specialized experience 2) if no qualified bidder offers a candidate who is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and has more than five years of specialized experience, then award to the lowest-priced responsive, responsible bidder who offers a Board Certified candidate in Internal Medicine, completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and has less than five years of specialized experience. The contractor will furnish physicians that are Board Certified in Internal Medicine and trained as a general gastroenterologist. Candidates must have a strong interest in clinical GI and be skilled in endoscopic procedures, including interventional therapeutics. The duties are primarily in outpatients performing consulting and GI procedures. A small portion of the time is spent with inpatients and answering inpatient consults from on staff hospitalists. All work is performed at the VA Medical Center Spokane Washington. There are approximately six endoscopic procedures per day in addition to consults. The estimated monthly volume is, EGD-35, Colonsocopy-40-50, Flex Sig- 20-30 (the majority of these are performed by residents who are precepted by a residency instructor), ERCP-1-2, Liver Biopsy 5, Peg Tube 1-2. ERCP skills are not required. Computer skills are required as the medical record is completely computerized and all imagery is digital. Tours of duty is Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. No Weekends, Holidays or after-hours call. NAICS Code 621111/$8.5 million applies.
