The National Naval Medical Center, (NNMC), Bethesda, MD intends to award a sole source procurement to Myriad Genetic Laboratories, Inc. to perform BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene sequence analysis for patients with breast cancer. The testing itself requires extensive legal and medical consultation with doctors and specialists in Genetic testing. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Award will be made using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
