The U.S.Geological Survey (USGS) Alaska Science Center, Anchorage, Alaska is seeking to discover, design and develop forty eight (48) Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) markers in candidate adaptive genes in Dall's sheep and use these markers to genotype ninety (90) individual sheep. Data will be applied to ongoing USGS Dall's sheep population genetics research work. For a period sixteen (16) months in the Wrangell - St. Elias National Park and Preserve (WRST) and at the USGS Alaska Science Center.A fixed price type purchase order is contemplated for this requirement. Competitive procedures in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, will be utilized. Award will be made to the offeror whose offer meets the requirements of the solicitation, price and other factors considered. It is anticipated that a Request for Quote (RFQ) will be issued and posted to this site on or about May 26, 2011 with quotations due on or about June 6, 2011.
