The Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center, 1201 Broad Rock Blvd., Richmond VA 23249 anticipates awarding a Basic Order Agreement for Home Hospice Services for this medical center for a period of one year from date of award with an option to renew this agreement for two additional years upon mutual agreement. The contracted agency will furnish the management, supervision and personnel necessary to provide all Home Hospice Care Services, as authorized by VAMC, to VAMC patients in their homes. The contracted agency shall provide at least the same/similar services as the Medicare hospice benefit allows. Care shall be provided regardless of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The VAMC staff will obtain services from an agency other than the contracted agency, when, by their professional assessment, the other agency would be the better resource to meet the needs of the patient and/or family. When the contracted agency cannot meet the needs of the patient, upon request, the CHNC will refer patients to another agency. Contracted agency staff shall only provide services, which have been validated and confirmed through CHNC, when the VA is the payer source.
