This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a pre-solicitation notice only. The purpose of this notice is to announce that the Department of Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS), San Diego, CA. has a requirement to provide Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IOM) Specialist as specified herein for eligible veterans on an as required basis at the VASDHS. The resulting contract will be effective for one (1) base year and four (4) One-year option periods. This requirement will be a set-aside for small business only.
" Contractor shall provide an IOM Specialist to perform Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring and Evoked Potential services on an as needed basis. The Contractor (IOM) shall provide a range of services in accordance with the terms and conditions contained herein.
" The purpose of IOM is to reduce the risk to the patient of iatrogenic damage to the nervous system, and/or to provide functional guidance to the surgeon and anesthesiologist.
" The IOM Specialist shall be well versed by virtue of training and experience in all aspects of Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring including:
a. Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR)
b. Visual Evoked Response (VER)
c. Somatosensory Evoked Potential (SEP or SSEP)
d. Electroencephalography (EEG)
e. Electromyography (EMG)
f. Nerve Conduction Studies
g. Knowledge of the Axon bio-med computer, Eclypse Model (or similar type of machine),that will be used to provide services.
h. IOM must maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in the field Intraoperative
Neurophysiologic Monitoring and Evoked Potentials.
