The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Asheville, North Carolina (VAMC Asheville) is seeking potential sources to provide the staffing, equipment and interpretation required to perform Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring assigned to the Surgical and Preoperative Care office. The Contractor shall provide credentialed Technologist to provide electrophysiological (EP) monitoring of patients undergoing spinal surgery at VAMC Asheville. Electrophysiological monitoring includes, standard lower and upper limb somatosensory evoked potential (SSEP), motor evoked potential (MEP) and electromyography (EMG) and brainstem evoked potential (BSEP) for medically indicated neurosurgical cases, such as cervical and lumbar spinal stenosis, cervical myelopathy, and cervical and lumbar disc herniations associated with radiculopathy. The contractor shall provide credentialed Neurophysiologist to provide real-time electro-diagnostic monitoring and interpretation for patients undergoing spinal cord surgery at VAMC Asheville. The Neurophysiologist must be certified in Neurophysiology by the American Board of Neurophysiology Monitoring. This service will begin when the administration of anesthesia commences and continues until the end of the case. The contractor will acquire, maintain, and provide state of the art equipment, technology and software and associated disposal supplies. The contractor shall provide all equipment within 24 hours prior to surgery cases for inspection by VAMC Asheville's Biomedical Equipment Services. The monitoring services provided by the Technician are subject to overall technical direction by a Neurophysiologist, who will provide on-site or remote real-time intra-operative electro diagnosis during the entire neurosurgical procedure. The government is anticipating an average of 20-30 cases per year. The contractor must bid on all areas in order to be considered responsive. The Government anticipates award of a commercial item contract to the responsible offeror whose offer provides best value to the Government. This will be an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract; base year and three (3) option years. The size standards for North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes are: 621111 and 621399; size standard is $10 million. This is a sources sought notice only.
