The VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota has a requirement for contractor to provide Therapeutic Apheresis Services at the VA Medical Center. Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment and disposable to supplies to perform the required services. Therapeutic apheresis services involves the withdrawal of anticoagulated whole blood from a patient via peripheral or central venous acess, its diversion into a cell separator where the components are separated by differential centrifugation, removal of the abnormal blood fraction (cells or plasma) and subsequent replacement with an appropriate substitute. It is an extracorporeal process that removes a specific volume of cells or plasma and, therefore, requires appropriate venous flow, fluid management, and patient monitoring. Services may include: Plasmapheresis, Red Cell Exchange, Leukopheresis and/or plateletpheresis and Immunoadsorption Therapy.
