The proposed procurement is for the services of specialized testing associated with muscle- nerve- and epidermal biopsies for neuromuscular disorders- neuropathy- and small fiber neuropathy. Testing services to include specimen requirements- means of transport for specimens from VA laboratories to contractor s laboratory- required preservatives- and processing and analysis of the specimen. Consultation regarding selection- collection- transportation and result interpretation shall also be provided when required. Services will specifically include muscle biopsy testing and diagnosis- nerve biopsy testing and diagnosis not requiring snap freezing prior to shipment- and epidermal and sweat gland nerve fiber density testing. Contractor will need to provide collection kits with specimen preservatives- shipping materials- and instructions on specimen handling and transport. Lastly- Contractor will also need to mail test results to Pathology - Laboratory Medicine- Histology Department at Orlando VA Medical Center. For the purpose of this acquisition- the NAICS code is 621511 and the small business size standard of $32.5M is applicable. This notice satisfies the requirement at FAR 5.201(b)(1), to publicize the proposed contract action. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes and no solicitation will be issued.
