The 2008 United States Air Force (USAF) Marathon is Saturday, September 20 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio with a two day Sports & Fitness Exposition (September 18-19) and 5K race (September 19) at the E. J. Nutter Center, Wright State University. All events are open to the public. The mission of the USAF Marathon is to provide an outstanding running event that is fun, yet challenging for competitors of all fitness levels; providing the highest military standards of customer service in collaboration with our sponsors and surrounding community partners. The USAF Marathon delivers the ?Race with a Different Altitude,? highlighting U.S. Air Force aircraft flyovers and a finish line flanked with vintage aircraft. The USAF Marathon maintains it?s uniqueness by having Air Force Senior Leadership present each runner with a commemorative medal as they cross the finish line.
For the past two years we have increased our runner registrations at a rate of 25% per year. Our goal is to continue this trend until we reach 10,000 runners to become a World Class Marathon event. In 2007 our runners represented 49 states and 10 foreign countries with more than 6,700 registered runners and about 15,000 attending the Sports & Fitness Expo. Furthermore, this year we implemented our first ?Down Range? marathon which included deployed service men and women in places such as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Kyrgyzstan. This gives our sponsors a unique opportunity to connect with a large and global market.
Our professional staff is happy to work with your company or organization to reach your marketing goals and budgets and to receive the maximum return on your investment. Thank you for your consideration.
