Schriever Air Force Base has a requirement for a civilian position classifier. This position will provide services to the Civilian Personnel Flight at the Peterson Air Force Complex and will consist of the following: (1) The administration, management, and maintenance of the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS). The DCPDS is DOD data system that maintains all computer information pertaining to civilian employees, their employment history, and current position the individual occupies, etc. The base level data system interfaces with the Headquarters Air Force (HAF) computer located at Randolph AFB TX. Services required include, but are not limited to: (A) Extract information from the database that management requires to perform various missions; (B) Construct and retrieve complex reports pertaining to civilian population. Some reports involve inclusion of authorization data from the HAF manpower file; (C) Research and resolve complex problems pertaining to the data system and to individual records in the database, including payroll interface problems with the Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS); (D) Maintain local table entries to facilitate record update and information retrieval. (2) The application of newly issued Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Classifications Standard to positions serviced at Schriever. Services required include, but are not limited to: (A) Analyze new OPM Classification standards for application to existing established positions; (B) Analyze/audit existing positions to determine applicability of new standards; (C) Apply new standards, rewriting position descriptions as necessary; (D) Ensure all associated documentation is submitted/filed to ensure actions are processed in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management and Air Force Directives. Services required are estimated at no more than 40 hours per week. This position is temporary and will expire on 30 September 2002. This is a combined solicitation/synopsis.
