The US Army Research Development Engineering Command (RDECOM) Acquisition Center-RTP Division, proposes to award a five-year cost reimbursement/ indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity type contract to obtain administrative and technical support to o rganize and oversee the Faculty Research and Engineering Program (FREP) and the High School Science & Mathematics Faculty Program (HSSMFP) for the Army. This procurement will be an 8(a) set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 561110, Administrative Management Services. The FREP was established by ARO in 1983 as a summer program for university & college professors to work in Army laboratories, centers and organizations. The program objectives are: (a) further the research interests of the U.S. Army; (b) stimulate communi cation between university, college and technical institution faculty members and Army researchers; and, (c) enhance the research capabilities of participating faculty members. The following year, ARO created the High School Science and Mathematics Faculty Program (HSSMFP) for outstanding 7th to 12th grade teachers in the following disciplines: math, physics, general science, engineering, chemistry, psychology, computer science a nd biology to conduct research in Army laboratories, centers and organizations. The HSSMFP objectives are: (a) advance the science and mathematical interests of the U.S. Army, (b) provide teachers with a working exposure to U.S. Army research and developm ent; (c) enhance research and teaching abilities; (d) develop a hands-on appreciation of the professional challenges undertaken by scientists and mathematicians; and, (e) provide a personal experience base from which teachers may counsel and encourage stud ents to pursue the science and mathematics curricula. The contractor must possess experience in administrative management support. The contractor must be able to provide the requested services from its own staff. The contractor will be held responsible for the management of the entire contract. The solicita tion will be issued on or about 11 January 2007. Hard copies will not be available.
