The Defense Distribution Center (DDC) intends to award a sole source purchase order in accordance with the Partnership Agreement between the Department of Defense and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), San Antonio, TX pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 - Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, 5 USC 3371-3376, and 5 CFR 334. This procurement is to provide the DDC with college students of Hispanic background to serve as interns in various career fields of the DDC. This effort is part of the DDC’s promotion of the Hispanic Employment Initiative’s Nine-Point Plan. The scope of work: Provide administration services for the Hispanic Internship Program. Students will be placed in a variety of career fields including: engineering, research, computer science, supply management, human resource, legal and other logistics career fields. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within four (4) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
