ITAP will identify and hire an in-country coordinator (hereafter referred to as contractor) to assist with day-to-day implementation of environmental cooperation program activities in Chile. The contractor will serve as the ITAP representative in Chile in assisting with implementation of all ITAP projects, including glacier monitoring, biodiversity and protected areas, and mining projects already underway. The contractor will provide project oversight in Chile, coordinate logistics, provide translation to ITAP teams, and conduct project monitoring, evaluation and reporting. In addition, the contractor will serve as a liaison throughout the life of the program between ITAP and government of Chile agencies, including the Ministry of the Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Mining, National Forest Corporation, the General Water Directorate, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/DIMA. The contractor will also assist ITAP with coordination with the Center for Scientific Studies (CECs), the U.S. Embassy in Santiago, and other government agencies and non-governmental organizations that DOI identifies as appropriate project partners or stakeholders.
