The Food and Drug Administration intends to award a purchase order on a sole source non-competitive basis to AC Nielsen, 220 Lake Drive East, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002. AC Nielsen shall provide five years of weekly transaction level household based retail food purchase information by household demographic to analyze the effect of FDAââ¬â¢s 2001 and 2004 seafood consumer advisories. These analyses would focus on specific issues and the influence they may be having on seafood purchasing by households with young children and women of childbearing years. AC Nielsen is the only contractor currently able to provide the data in the short time available to complete the proposed study of consumer behavior. Their 15,000 member Homescan panel is the most geographically dispersed and demographically representative panel in the industry that collects both UPC Coded and Non-UPC coded product purchases. FDA intends to make an award fifteen (15) days from the date of this notice. This is not a request for quotes; however sources may submit descriptive literature, fully documenting their capabilities, which will be considered by the agency. A determination to compete this procurement based on response(s) to this notice solely within the discretion of the Government. The award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
