NASA/GSFC has a requirement for theoretical calculations to model the accelerationand propagation of Solar Energetic Particles. These models are important for the properinterpretation of energetic particle data obtained by IMPACT instruments on the STEREOAhead and Behind Spacecraft.NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the services from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA., pursuant to FAR 13.106, for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to bereasonably available from only one source.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 2:30 p.m. est on datelisted above. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.
