This announcement is in support of Market Research performed by the Rock Island Contracting Center to determine interest in a multiple year services contract for the Postal Operations Direct Support for Afghanistan. The contract would be for five years, consisting of a base year and four one year options.
Purpose of the contract: The Contractor shall operate Army Post Offices (APOs) in Afghanistan capable of providing support to United States Armed Forces and eligible customers on Bagram Airfield (BAF), Kandahar Airfield (KAF), Jalalabad Airfield (JAF), Salerno, Sharana (SHAF), Camp Phoenix, Camp Eggers, Orgun-E, Ghazni, Herat, International Security Assistance Force Headquarters (ISAF), Messar E Sharif (MES), Gardez, Camp Lightning, Camp Blessing, and Kabul International Airport (KAIA). Operations shall be IAW DoD Postal Manual 4525.6-M, dated 15 August 2002, USCENTCOM policies and regulations, USPS bulletins, manuals, policies, publications, and regulations, CFLCC theater postal policies and procedures, Postal Operations Directorate (POD) policies, and other applicable DoD and Army policies and regulations.
