The Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Oakland Operations Office (OAK) requests proposals from qualified small businesses for Translation Services in support of the HEU Transparency Program.This contract is for the translation and interpretation from Russian to English or English to Russian of documents and meetings/ negotiations in support of the HEU Transparency Implementation Program. The documents to be translated involve formal agreements on how U.S. and Russia will conduct the program, technical details on how monitors will conduct site visits, use of technical non destructive assay instruments and their maintenance, technical discussions on the types of data to be viewed and how that data will be interpreted/analyzed, and logistics information on the program and personnel involved. Documents may involve subjects such as the conversion of highly enriched uranium to low enriched uranium, nuclear materials processing, radiation monitoring, measurement instruments, technical manuals, engineering drawings, and safety related documents and operations. Some of the requests for translation/interpretation may require quick turn around (within several hours) and travel to Russia. The majority of the tasks and assignments will be made from and delivered to the NNSA Offices in Germantown, MD.
