AMENDMENT I
The above referenced solicitation is hereby amended to respond to vendor questions and to provide an updated specification drawing as follows:
Question: Number 5 on the notes of the drawing, foil frame spacers, can these be cast aluminum?
Answer: Number 5 states "or equivalent", however, some may not interpret that to apply to the non-magnetic properties. Yes, cast aluminum is acceptable as it is equivalently non-magnetic. The note has been updated.
Question: Could aluminum be used instead of stainless steel for the side plates?
Answer: Number 4 needs to stay as non-magnetic stainless steel, 316 or equivalent as it is part of our shielding.
Question: Can the size of the M16 hardware be reduced and the threaded nuts below the surface of the side plates?
Answer: The M16 hardware is a max size as stated on the drawing. It can be smaller but not larger. Same goes for the overall assembly width with the max bolt size and sticking out; it is a max dimension, so if the contractor wants to have them flush with the sides to more easily meet the hard dimension on the casing width that is acceptable.
A revised drawing, attached, entitled radialcollimator-1 is provided based on this amendment.
The due date and time remains unchanged and all quotations must be received by May 5, 2014 at 3pm EST.
