THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Disease (NCEZID) intends to solicit a single source and award a firm fixed price Blanket Purchase Agreement to Rainin Instrument LLC, Oakland, CA 94621, in accordance with FAR Part 13 using the commercial item test program. The purpose of this procurement is to establish a Blanket Purchase Agreement in order to purchase the following pipette tips:

Rainin Instrument LLC is the only manufacturer of these pipette tips. Although other companies manufacture pipette tips, each pipette tip yields small but significant differences in dispensing. To ensure the integrity of the research studies using pipette tips, it is imperative that consistent tips be used.

The anticipated ordering period will be five years. CDC anticipates soliciting and negotiating with only one source under the authority of the test program for commercial items (Section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996) in accordance with FAR 13.501(a). Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Rainin Instruments LLC is the only known source available to provide the supplies that meet mission critical requirements. The associated NACIS Code is 334516.
