MNIT Services (MNIT) intends to enter into an agreement with RapidDeploy to renew the licenses for their RapidDeploy Nimbus product. RapidDeploy Nimbus provides the Department of Public Safety (DPS) with a comprehensive, highly configurable, web-based platform that can integrate with multiple disparate computer aided dispatch (CAD) systems to provide a single shared platform for sharing location information services, communication services, and situational awareness amongst all Minnesota Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs). MNIT has determined that RapidDeploy is the only commercially available vendor who can provide these services. RapidDeploy is the only available product offering PSAPs and emergency responder agencies a single tool providing event information, location information and comprehensive situational awareness amongst multiple agencies regardless of their current CAD data system. This tool allows participating agencies to communicate immediately with valuable information involved in emergency communication thereby reducing errors and reducing time necessary to communicate between the agencies.
