The Regional Health Contracting Office - Pacific, in support of Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii, intends to make a sole source award to Cepheid for the following reagents compatible with the GeneXpert Infinity System molecular analyzers for microbial identification and resistance markers by PCR in patient samples: Xpert C, difficile/Epi, Xpert Xpress Strep A, Xpert GBS Lim Broth, Xpert MRSA, Xpert MTB/RIF, Xpert EV, IVD, Xpert Xpress Flu/RSV in order to be compliant with prevailing established testing methodology. The contract will be for a 12-month base period plus two 12-month options. The statutory authority permitting this award without providing full and open competition is FAR 13.501(a)(1)(ii) which authorizes the government to award contracts when there is only one responsible source and no other suppliers or services will satisfy agency requirements.

The NAICS code is 325413. This announcement fulfills the synopsis requirements under FAR 5.201 and 5.203. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government.
