The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Advanced Power Technology Office has a need to improve the U.S. Air Force’s ability to provide reliable power for critical infrastructure. This program will ensure that energy distribution, storage, backup generation and uninterruptible power systems (UPS) are not only more reliable to support critical assets, but also have the functionality to coordinate with utility power and other sources to provide resilience. Solutions may include load shedding strategies and utilize sources such as solar, wind, and central heat and power (CHP). Reliable power capabilities will help ensure the Air and Space Forces can support and defend the nation’s interests, providing mission assurance through energy assurance.
