1. SUMMARY: Contractor is to disconnect and move Howard transformer, move the concrete pad the transformer sits on, perform MODEF (mineral oil dielectric fluid) abatement to the soil underneath the transformer,and reinstall concrete pad and transformer to location it was originally removed from. The transformer is being removed to allow technicians from Howard Transformer Inc. to perform warranty reapirs to the transformer at no cost to the goverment.
2. COURT PREPERATION & RESURFACING SPECIFICATIONS:

•Switch out and de-energize 500KVA 277/480VAC pad mounted transformer at C-130 Hangar.

•Disconnect all primary and secondary cables and CT transformers and cables

•Lift and set transformer aside for field repairs. Repairs are to be performed by technicians from Howard Transformer Inc. at no cot to the goverment.

•Remove concrete transformer pad.

•Abate MODEF contaminated soil under transformer.

•Remove up to 20 yards of non-hazardous soil as needed and transport off site to a fully permitted waste disposal facility.

•Reinstall concrete transformer pad.

•Reinstall repaired Howard transformer on concrete pad.

•Reconnect all primary and secondary cables and CT transformers and cables.

•Switch in, re-energize and test repaired transformer.

•Visually observe and inspect transformer to ensure there are no oil leaks or other abnormalities.

•Abide by all State and Federal regulations.
