US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) with Bruker Biospin Corporation, 15 Fortune Drive, Billerica, MA 01821 to provide Repair services for the Bruker 300MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometer (NMR) used in the sample analysis of imported commodity and forensic sample.
The LSS Laboratory in Savannah, Georgia requires repair services on the existing Bruker 300MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometer (NMR).

Bruker is the manufacturer. This instrument was designed and manufactured by Bruker Biospin Corporation. There are no alternative companies which can service and repair this instrument. This vendor is the sole manufacturer and licensed distributor of the instrument. The parts are supplied by the contractor and any repair requires specialized knowledge. Only genuine parts from the vendor are compatible with the instrument. Additionally, there are no other vendors who are certified for repairing the instrument without voiding the warranty. The repair by the manufacturer includes providing the new parts and diagnostics verifying the equipment, to ensure it meets specifications.

The Government intends to solicit and negotiate directly with Bruker Biospin Corporation. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal. An award shall be made to Bruker Biospin Corporation. The anticipated award date is March 13, 2013.
