THIS SYNOPSIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.  Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intends to negotiate with Best Fire Tech Corp., 5465 E. Cheryl Pkwy. Madison, WI 53711-5373, for repairs to Bruker equipment, S2 Ranger X-ray Fluorescence, on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source. 

Customs and Border Protection Customhouse, #1 LA Puntilla St., San Juan, Puerto Rico has a requirement for the procurement and repair of the equipment listed above.  The Bruker equipment which is used for the analysis of pharmaceutical products, forensic sample and trace evidence.

 The instrument will aid CBP in its mission to efficiently facilitate legitimate international trade while protecting the United States of America from dangerous, contaminated, adulterated, illegal substances, etc.  The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516 and the size standard is 500 employees.

The Government intends to solicit and negotiate directly with Bruker AXS Inc.  No solicitation package will be issued.  This notice is not a request for competitive proposal.  It is anticipated that the order will be awarded to Bruker AXS Inc. on or about July 25, 2014.

If any interested person believes it can meet the above requirement, they may identify their interest and capability via e-mail.  The capability statement must include sufficient detail to allow the Government to determine if the party can perform the requirement.   All responses may be e-mailed to Dione. Verification of receipt of response is the sole responsibility of the interested person.  A determination by the Government to compete this requirement based on any responses received is solely at the discretion of the Government.  Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  If no responsive statements are received by July 25, 2014 at 12:30pm EDT, an award will be made to Bruker AXS  Inc.
