The City of Charlotte seeks to replace its current Content Management System (CMS) used to build and manage its public-facing website on charlottenc.gov. The City’s website is currently built and managed on Microsoft’s SharePoint 2013, and has been on this platform with its earlier versions and iterations since the late 1990s. Charlottenc.gov is the City’s public-facing website and includes all city departments and elected officials’ sites, including those enterprise departments which are uniquely branded. The City now desires a CMS that has a more updated user interface, is simpler and easier for contributors and managers to use, is more open for sharing and integration with other digital platforms (e.g. Open Data Portal), facilitates social interaction and engagement opportunities, and is faster and simpler to build, edit and manage content.
