Background
The current Parachutist Oxygen Console supplies the Military Freefall (MFF) parachutist with 100% aviator's grade O2 without depleting the volume of oxygen in the parachutist's bailout system (bottle) during high altitude missions. Currently the console is inadequate to support high altitude operation requirements resulting in additional consoles or K Bottles being brought on to the aircraft.

Description
Product Manager Soldier Clothing and Individual Equipment (PdM SCIE), Personnel Airdrop Team, Natick, MA is conducting a market research to locate potential manufacturers and/or suppliers of an Oxygen Console for MFF/standoff parachute operations. The O2 Console will be part of the Army's Parachutist Oxygen Delivery System (PODS), comprised of the Console, the Parachutist Oxygen Mask, Oxygen Bailout Bottles, and an Oxygen Transfer Pump used to fill the O2 Bailout and Console bottles. The PODS O2 Console will support multiple parachutists during the pre-breathe phase of high altitude operations as well as providing supplemental oxygen during the execution of high altitude (13,000-30,000 feet above ground level) parachute operations..

The system should meet the following performance requirements, which contain both Threshold [T] and Objective [O] levels. The objective level is the performance goal, while the threshold level is the minimum acceptable performance short of the goal. These requirements represent the desired increased capability over the current O2 Console performance.

Please see attachment for Threshold and Objective levels.

This Market Research is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute an Invitation for Bid (IFB) or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and is not to be taken as a future commitment by PdM SCIE.
