REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)

DESCRIPTION

•1.1           The Nonappropriated Funds Instrumentality (NAFI) Office, Commander Navy Installations Command (CNIC) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI).  CNIC is trying to determine manufacturers of wearable blankets/sleep sacks for infants ages birth to 12 months with the capability of applying an embroidered logo to the wearable blankets/ sleep sacks.  These wearable blankets/sleep sacks will be used in CNIC's Child & Youth Program's Child Development Centers.  Wearable blankets/sleep sacks are an alternative solution to loose blankets and are recommended in the 2005 Guidelines on Preventing SIDS and the 2012 republication of The National Health & Safety Standards-Safe Sleep Practices and SIDS/Suffocation Risk Reduction Standards (available at http://nrckids.org).  These wearable blankets also need to be certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics.  They will ship to U.S. Navy bases worldwide and a total quantity of over 5,000 will be ordered.

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY.   This RFI is for planning and informational purposes only and shall not be considered as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the NAFI to acquire any products or services. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by NAFI will arise as a result of a response to this RFI or NAFI's use of such information.  Data submitted in response to this RFI will not be returned.  No contract will be awarded from this announcement. 

1.3       Please respond no later than 5:00 p.m. on 27 MAR 2015 with information stating the manufacturer's name, ability to apply the below logo, any product certifications as well as ability to meet the quantity requirements and ship overseas.
