The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is soliciting proposals from firms that are able to lead coordination of two statewide networks of professionals working to improve asthma outcomes and build health equity: Community Action to Fight Asthma (CAFA) Network, and California Healthy Housing Coalition (CHHC). These networks focus on environmental conditions, like wildfire smoke exposure, as a key issue affecting people with asthma in California and facilitate connections to the asthma management activities led by the CDPH. CDPH is looking for a contractor, in the San Francisco Bay Area Region, who has a history of serving Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities, and experience convening statewide networks of diverse health-related stakeholders. The Contractor shall 1) plan and facilitate a Community Action to Fight Asthma (CAFA) Asthma Summit, and 2) lead coordination of the California Healthy Housing Coalition and facilitate connections to the asthma activities led by the California Department of Public Health.
