The Village of Weston (“Village”) is seeking proposals (“Proposals”) from qualified firms or individuals (“Developers”) for the purchase and development of the Village-owned property at 5500 Schofield Ave. (Parcel ID: 192-2808-164-0982). The Village Board considers this property (“Site”) an important site that offers unique mixed use, commercial, and residential development opportunities. Currently, the property is zoned Institutional, due to its current/former use as a municipal center. DEVELOPMENT VISION The vision for the property’s development is still emerging and the Village will consider Developer proposals on the basis of their meeting the best interests of the Village. Among the criteria the Village will weigh are development intensity (utilization of the site and assessed value of improvements), job creation potential, market demand, and highest economic and financial benefit to the Village. The Village will consider rezoning to maximize the economic, quality of life, and financial benefits. Note: all land use changes will require Village Plan Commission and Village Board approval. The Village is open to proposals that address demolition of the existing buildings and re-development with new construction. The Village is not bound to accept any proposal for this project and reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
