Synopsis:
The US Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR)'s Office of Policy and Planning and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Office of Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response (OPHPR), requests RPD and facemask manufacturers' participation in a senior level meeting with Federal preparedness partners to exchange ideas around respiratory protective device (i.e., surgical masks, elastomeric masks, PAPRs and filtering facepiece respirators) pandemic influenza planning.
This meeting will provide an opportunity for the Federal government to share information on the scope of the supply situation for these products, provide partners with an understanding of modeling that is guiding federal planning, and allow one-on-one engagement to address the projected preparedness challenge.
Purpose:
The Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are seeking information from the manufacturing community on Respiratory Protective Device (RPD) and surgical mask products and manufacturing capabilities.
Each company attending will be provided a forty-five minute time slot to discuss: information provided to the CDC in the RFI Respiratory Protective Device and Surgical Mask (2014-RFI-16513) (if applicable), company-specific concerns, and thoughts on how to better partner with the federal government to address the supply and demand complexities during a public health emergency.
