Social Studies education prepares students to become engaged, informed participants committed to the ideas and values of our democratic republic, able to apply skills of inquiry, collaboration, decision-making, and problem solving. The Buffalo Public Schools is looking to purchase a rigorous, interactive textbook(s) that will support Grade 12 Participation in Government instruction based on the New York State social studies framework. The textbook(s) must reflect Foundation of American Democracy, Civil Right and Civil Liberties, Rights, Responsibilities and Duties of Citizenship, Political and Civic Participation and Public Policy. The textbook(s) will be available to all schools offering Grade 12 Participation in Government for student and teacher use. The textbook(s) must be available in English and Spanish, be culturally responsive, offer supports for students identified as English Language Learners and Special Education. The textbook must be adaptive to meet the needs of all learners as well as offer online resources.
