SGC.2: Flood Control Engineering General: The selected consultant(s) may be requested to provide a variety of Water Resources Engineering Services including but not limited to any engineering services related to drainage and flood control, and as directed by the Department. Watershed Studies: Perform watershed studies including hydrologic/hydraulic and sediment dynamics using generally accepted engineering methods to determine the predicted flow, capacity of existing and proposed hydraulic structures and watercourses. Perform master drainage plan studies. Perform Flood Insurance Rate Map revisions to FEMA standards. Perform fish passage studies. Flood Control and Drainage Engineering: General engineering of flood control and drainage work including preparation of construction drawings in AUTOCAD (or a Flood Control District approved alternative) for various Flood Control District owned infrastructure improvements and maintenance (including storm drains, watercourses, basins, structures, etc.), construction contract specifications using the Caltrans format, construction cost estimates, and review of development plans for adequacy and conformance with Flood Control Standards. Emergency Response: Safety assessment of Flood Control District owned facilities in the aftermath of a flood or declared storm event, fire, or other disaster requiring timely response to safeguard the public. May include preparation of engineered plans, specifications and/or construction cost preparation. Professional Licensing Requirements: C - Civil Engineer, licensed in the State of California, as defined by the Professional Engineers Act.
