This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information only. This is not a Solicitation Announcement, nor is it a Request for Proposal. This request does not obligate the government in any contract award. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, is conducting preliminary research to determine the market capabilities of a potential contractor for an Aircraft Division Facility consisting of four (4) large docks utilized for the Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM) and overhaul of C-5 cargo aircraft; north/south annexes and center high-low monitor areas that contain administrative offices and maintenance shops. Project includes the removal and replacement of the existing corrugated metal (Galbestos coated) barrel roof at docks 1-4 totaling approximately 256,000 SF, and the removal and replacement of existing dock corrugated metal (Galbestos coated) side wall panels totaling approximately 129,000 SF. Included are internal gutters. Roofing will be replaced with 100' continuous panels. Project includes heavy metal (chromium III, chromium VI, lead (non-paint) and cadmium) dust cleaning, stripping paint from existing structural steel framing within the dock bays, and repainting. Project includes the removal and replacement of existing built-up roof system for the north/south annexes, center high-low monitor roofs and out building roofs totaling approximately 253,000 SF, with a new roofing system, including interior roof drain assemblies where required, gutters, downspouts, flashing, etc. Project includes the design and installation of a new lightning protection system and a new Fire Protection & Suppression system. The design shall address the requirements for worker notification, abatement, and disposal of all hazardous materials including asbestos, pcb, heavy metals and lead paint. Performance of work location is in the state of Georgia. The project will be design build (DB).

- Evidence of capabilities to perform comparable work with the specialized experience of removing/containing the old Galbestos roof product and working on huge barrel roofs on Three (3) recent projects (not more than five years old). Include the project name and description of the key/salient features of the project (i.e., square footage, multi-story, secure facility, phased renovation, etc.), completion date, total contract construction value, whether it was design-build or construction only, and your company's level of involvement in the project. Please provide at least one point of contact (with email address and phone number) for project validation.
- Firm's capability to perform and project size. Include firm's in-house capability to execute design and construction, or established relationship with a design firm to perform D-B.
