The 1st Special Operations Contracting Squadron at Hurlburt Field FL intends to award a Sole Source purchase order to L-3 Communications Corporation. Line item 0001- ROVER 5 Rechargeable Batteries (8 each), Line item 0002- C/L/S Omni Antenna (2 each), Line item 0003- XX90 to ROVER 5 16 VDC (3 each), Line item 0004- DC Output Cable for ROVER 5 (1 each). This award is unrestricted and is under North American Industry Classification System Code 334220 with a small business size standard of 750 employees. This sole source action is being accomplished under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). The government believes that L-3 Communications Corporation is the only known source that has the patented, proprietary, commercial product and design expertise to provide these required parts to the existing ROVER 5 handheld video reciever. This notice is NOT a request for quote. However, interested companies shall submit to the contracting officer a brief capabilities statement package (no more than 10 pages in length, single spaced, 12 point font minimum) demonstrating ability to perform the requested services at or before 3:00 PM (central), 14 September 2012. Any information received will only be considered for the purpose of conducting a competitive procurement. The contract award number is FA4417-12-P-0144 in the amount of $15,394.
