The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order to Sakura Finetek U.S.A., Inc., 1750 West 214th Street, Torrance, CA 90501, to provide annual full service maintenance for a quantity of one (1) VIP 6 Tissue Processor, Serial number 60300606; quantity of one (1) Prisma Stainer, Serial number 61300409; quantity of one (1) Linked G2 Coverslipper/6500, Serial number 65000053; quantity of one (1) Xpress Tissue Processor, Serial number 71000096; quantity of two (2) Autowrite Slide Printers, Serial numbers 80310198 and 80311122; quantity of two (2) Linked Unload Stations, Serial numbers 80331156 and 80331648; quantity of one (1) AutoTEC Embedder, Serial number 70000516. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source will satisfy the Agency's requirements because this is the only service that can meet the requirements for preventive maintenance. Anyone other than Sakura Finetek U.S.A., Inc. authorized personnel attempting to repair or service the equipment would exclude Sakura Finetek U.S.A., Inc. from their obligations. No solicitation is being issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals, however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which, if received by the response date, shall be considered by the Agency. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the Government.
