San Miguel County (SMC) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors with a demonstrated understanding of wildfire risk to develop an up-to-date Community Wildfire Protection Plan. This plan is essential for reducing wildfire risks, protecting water resources, engaging communities in proactive measures, allocating resources efficiently, and conserving the environment. These combined efforts contribute to safer, more resilient communities and healthier ecosystems. Work is anticipated to begin in the first quarter of 2025 upon approval from the Board of County Commissioners for the 2025 budget and/or grant funding.
