SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy.  As a management and operating contractor, subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements, and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations in 48 CFR. Nonetheless, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations may affect our DOE approved purchasing system, as required by statute, regulation, or contract terms and conditions.

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory has a requirement for a Desktop Scanning Electron Microscope with at least 10 nanometer resolution and simple user interface. Must have fast load time and be insensitive to vibration. Must have energy dispersive spectroscopy function for elemental analysis. Must have long source lifetime and maintenance free operation.

Source selection will be based on Lowest Priced Technically Acceptable Method.

5. Imaging insulating materials without Gold plasma coating
6. Maintenance Free operation (years)

8. High Sensitivity electron back scatter detector – elemental analysis
9. Automated Image Mapping
10. Python Programming interface
11. Vibration Insensitive
