The purpose of this sources sought announcement is to gain knowledge of potentially qualified Small Business, 8(a), Woman Owned Small Business, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, and HUBZone contractor sources; as well as their size classifications relative to the NAICS code 237990, PSC code Y1PZ, and Small Business Size Standard $36.5 Million. Depending upon the responses associated with the business categories listed above, the solicitation will either be set aside in one of those categories or be issued as unrestricted and open to both small and large businesses. After review of the responses to this announcement and if the Government still plans to proceed with this project; a separate solicitation announcement will be published on FedBizOpps (www.FBO.gov). Responses to this announcement are not an adequate response to any future solicitation announcement.
PROJECT DETAILS:
Sec 103 Alki Coastal Erosion Control Project, Seattle, WA.
The Seattle District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers proposes to construct an approximately 440 linear foot seawall to provide coastal erosion protection for public utilities, roadways, and public lands behind the wall. The project is located in West Seattle at Emma Schmitz Memorial Overlook Park. The project will involve construction of a new soldier pile and lagging seawall to a height of 22 feet (MLLW) immediately adjacent to and seaward of an existing deteriorated wall. Environmental best management practices include removal of loose armor rock in front of the project footprint where possible.
The major features of work include:
Soldier pile wall - augered holes, tremie concrete in marine environment, steel soldier piles, concrete lagging
Erosion protection - riprap and gravel
Landscaping - earthwork, grading, plantings, concrete benches.
Special construction constraints: public area, existing utility protection (54" dia. sewer main), coastal work (care and diversion of water), environmental (work window)
Expected magnitude of construction is between $2 million and $5 million.
