Naval Medical Center San Diego anticipates entering into sole source procurement negotiations under Statutory authority 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one responsible source, with:

The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from one source. The objective of this sole source award is to procure service maintenance and repair services on government owned Olympus Equipment as listed below.
Rationale: Olympus America, Inc. has patent rights and proprietary ownership of their products, parts, services and does not authorize third party service dealers or retailers to service/and or resell their equipment or parts. As a result, Naval Medical Center San Diego has a Bona Fide need to acquire, on a sole source basis, service on the following items:
